Terms of use

Last updated 2 September 2026.

By using noreadablecompany.xyz you agree to these terms. If you cannot accept them, do not use the shredder.

The service

The site provides a browser tool that hashes files and pasted text on your device and can produce a certificate image. It also publishes an agent skill (SKILL.md and a local script) that you may install into your own AI tools. Both are offered as-is, at no charge, with no uptime promise.

Irreversible hashing

SHA-256 is one-way. The digest cannot be turned back into the original bytes. No Readable Company holds no copy and no backup of anything you process. If you shred the only readable copy of something you still need, that is your loss. We cannot restore it.

Not a certified vendor

If a regulator, contract, or court order requires a particular destruction method, chain of custody, or licensed vendor, this tool does not replace that. A local hash and a PNG certificate are a technical record from your browser, not a statutory destruction certificate unless your own counsel says otherwise.

Your responsibilities

You must have the right to process the file. You must not use the tool to hide evidence you are legally required to keep. You must delete originals from disk yourself if that is your intent. You must keep your own records if you need them.

Limitation

To the extent law allows, No Readable Company is not liable for lost data, failed hashes, browser bugs, or reliance on a certificate. The software runs on your machine, in a browser we do not control.

Changes

These terms may change when the product changes. The date at the top is the current version.
